Lover of All Things Beauty4.0:
FIRST let me say I think this is pretty darn over priced. You get 0.5 fl oz for $49. You can get the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter full size is 1 oz (so DOUBLE the product) for $44 – while it’s only $5 less it’s $5 less AND DOUBLE THE PRODUCT!Now I want to say the people in the reviews that haven’t liked the product it seems it comes down to it not being used correctly.I would say that’s kind of the brand’s fault for calling this a “face serum” but the brand did give specific directions in its use – “Use in the morning before makeup for a subtle glow or after makeup for a more pronounced effect.” But a lot of people who use skincare regularly might not think there’s a reason to read the directions of use for a serum and just apply it as a serum. So like I said I do think the brand is partly at fault for the people who aren’t liking the product since they called it a face serum and they’re using it like that. While this is called a “face serum” it really isn’t a face serum that you’re going to want to apply during your skincare all over your face. This is something that should be applied either BEFORE makeup to areas you want to brighten and illuminate then apply your BB cream/foundation/etc. or AFTER makeup and use it as a highlighter and only apply it where you would normally apply a highlighter. If you apply it AFTER makeup and use it as a highlighter it is going to be more pronounced just like the directions say.If you apply it BEFORE makeup when you apply your BB cream/foundation it’s going to reduce some of the glow leaving you with a subtle glow in the areas you applied it.If you apply this all over your face and just leave it or even just apply it on areas you want to highlight but just leave it (no other makeup) if there’s anything you didn’t want accentuated this is going to accentuate it. That’s what highlight does. It brings forward areas. On the other hand darkness pushes things back (contour). So if you want to make your cheekbones more pronounced you highlight them. But if you highlight an area where you have fine lines that’s going to make the lines look way more pronounced. I know some of the people in the reviews that didn’t like it said it wasn’t for mature skin because it accentuated everything they didn’t want accentuated but like I said if you have any type of fine lines or wrinkles it will accentuate those if you’re wearing this ALONE. That’s why you don’t want to wear this alone. If you apply it before BB cream/CC cream/foundation/etc. then you will get the illuminating effects without the accentuation of things you don’t want because of the foundation. If you apply this like a highlighter after makeup it will be more pronounced so just remember that when applying it.So with this if you want subtle glowy skin I would apply this to the cheeks temple area and bridge of nose BEFORE makeup. Then apply your BB cream/foundation/etc. You’ll notice that some of that glow peeks through but it is subtle. You could also apply it all over your face as long as you’re going in with a foundation after. There’s a lot of illuminating face primers just like this one that I’ve applied all over the face. But I only like to do that when I am going to be using a matte foundation because it’s really the only way I like matte foundations on my skin.If you want to use this as a highlighter apply your makeup first. Then dab this lightly with your finger damp beauty sponge or small highlighting brush to areas you want to highlight and accentuate like your cheekbones. This has a very faint floral type scent which I could have done without. But I only smell it as I apply it and even then just barely. This feels nice going on the skin. It glides on easily. It feels extremely moisturizing on the skin. It absorbs quickly without leaving any tacky feel to the skin. It doesn’t pill up when I apply makeup over it. If I apply it over my makeup as a highlighter it doesn’t lift the makeup under it.I also really like the ingredients in here will work to help brighten my skin. I have sun spots on my cheekbones and temple area. So I like the fact that applying this with the vitamin C licorice root extract and niacinamide in it will help brighten those areas over time. It also has a lot of moisturizing ingredients which didn’t surprise me since it feels really hydrating. It also has a lot of skin-identical ingredients soothing ingredients and antioxidants in it.Overall I think this is a great product to be used as an illuminating primer or a highlighter after makeup. As long as you’re using it that way I think you’d love it. But like I said in the beginning I do think it’s pretty over priced. You only get 0.5 fl oz for $49. That is expensive! There’s a ton of illuminating primers for far less. This does have some nice skin care ingredients in it that are meant to help over time with continued use. But I can use my actual skin care for that and get a cheaper illuminating primer. So that’s the only downside I see with this. I think it’s pretty overpriced given how much you get. As long as you’re using it like the directions state then you’re not going to be using much as each use so it’s going to last a while. So that’s good at least. I also don’t like they put fragrance in it. So I’d say if price isn’t a factor and you’re looking for something hydrating that will work as a makeup primer and give your skin a nice subtle glow under your makeup or to use as a highlighter go for it. But if price is a factor I’d say go for something else like L’Oréal Lumi Glotion (“Fair” works just like this one) or NYX born to Glow (the pink one also works just like this one does). A little more expensive is the Saie Glowy Super Gel ($28) but it works beautifully too. Then there’s even the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter where you can get a mini (0.18 oz for $15) or the full size (1 oz for $44). You can get a full size Charlotte Tilbury for a tad less than this product is! So there’s some perspective on that ? With the confusion in calling this a face serum (but the directions are clear) and the small amount of product for the price even though this works really well I am giving it 4 stars (more like 3.5 probably but rounding to 4)

Filorga Skin-Unify Radiance Perfecting Face SerumThis serum is iridescent to add a subtle light-reflecting shimmer to the skin. But beyond that it’s a good hydrating moisturizing and antioxidant serum. I’d prefer it without the shimmer so it could be used day and night.Key Ingredients:Anti-acne: NiacinamideAntioxidant: Tocopheryl Acetate Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate Tocopherol Ascorbic Acid Sodium Tocopheryl PhosphateCell-communicating ingredient: Retinyl Acetate NiacinamideSkin brightening: Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate Cystoseira TamariscIfolia Extract Ascorbic Acid NiacinamideSkin-identical ingredient: Squalane Glycerin Sodium Hyaluronate Alanine Valine Threonine Isoleucine Phenylalanine Glycine Serine Aspartic Acid ProlineSoothing: Bisabolol Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract Achillea Millefolium ExtractFull Ingredients:Aqua (Water Eau) Glycereth-26 Propylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate Squalane Dicaprylyl Carbonate Ci 77891 (Titanium Dioxide) Mica Pentylene Glycol Polymethyl Methacrylate Sucrose Palmitate Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer Phenoxyethanol Bisabolol Glycerin Butylene Glycol Silica Glyceryl Linoleate Lauryl Glucoside Polyglyceryl-2 Dipolyhydroxystearate Parfum (Fragrance) Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil Tocopheryl Acetate O-Cymen-5-Ol Polysorbate 60 Sorbitan Isostearate Sodium Chloride Citric Acid Benzyl Alcohol Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate Sodium Hyaluronate Tin Oxide Potassium Sorbate Achillea Millefolium Extract Xanthan Gum Glucose Cystoseira TamariscIfolia Extract Potassium Chloride Calcium Chloride Tocopherol Magnesium Sulfate Glutamine Undaria Pinnatifida Extract Sodium Phosphate Ascorbic Acid Sodium Acetate Lysine Hcl Arginine Hcl Alanine Histidine Hcl Valine Leucine Threonine Isoleucine Tryptophan Phenylalanine Tyrosine Glycine Polysorbate 80 Serine Cystine Cyanocobalamin Glutathione Asparagine Aspartic Acid Ornithine Hcl Glutamic Acid Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide Proline Methionine Taurine Hydroxyproline Glucosamine Hcl Coenzyme A Sodium Glucuronate Thiamine Diphosphate Retinyl Acetate Inositol Niacin Niacinamide Pyridoxine Hcl Biotin Calcium Pantothenate Riboflavin Sodium Tocopheryl Phosphate Thiamine Hcl Folic Acid

Filorga Skin-Unify Radiance Perfecting Face SerumThe radiance in this serum comes from mica which is pretty typical. It is very hydrating and can be worn alone or under foundation but you lose a tiny bit of the radiance. This is a super tiny tube and contains 15ml but you really don’t need much – about half a pea-sized drop to cover my face. There is a slight floral scent but nothing overwhelming. It works fine with my other skincare items. It is on the super expensive side for what it is though. The tube comes in a box that is safety sealed with plastic wrap. I couldn’t find an expiration date on the box or container. It comes in a basic white plastic tube with a plastic needle tip dispenser and cap.#alcohol-freeKey IngredientsAnti-acne: NiacinamideAntioxidant: Tocopheryl Acetate Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate Tocopherol Ascorbic Acid Sodium Tocopheryl PhosphateCell-communicating ingredient: Retinyl Acetate NiacinamideSkin brightening: Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate Cystoseira TamariscIfolia Extract Ascorbic Acid NiacinamideSkin-identical ingredient: Squalane Glycerin Sodium Hyaluronate Alanine Valine Threonine Isoleucine Phenylalanine Glycine Serine Aspartic Acid ProlineSoothing: Bisabolol Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract Achillea Millefolium ExtractALL INGREDIENTS BY FUNCTIONAbrasive/scrub: Tin OxideAntimicrobial/antibacterial: O-Cymen-5-OlBuffering: Citric Acid Sodium Phosphate Ascorbic Acid Sodium Acetate TaurineColorant: Ci 77891 (Titanium Dioxide) Mica Tin Oxide RiboflavinEmollient: Glycereth-26 Propylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate Squalane Dicaprylyl Carbonate Sucrose Palmitate Glyceryl Linoleate Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) OilEmulsifying: Sucrose Palmitate Glyceryl Linoleate Polysorbate 60 Sorbitan Isostearate Polysorbate 80 Sodium Tocopheryl PhosphateMoisturizer/humectant: Glycereth-26 Pentylene Glycol Glycerin Butylene Glycol Sodium Hyaluronate Glucose Glutamic Acid Sodium Glucuronate Inositol NiacinamidePerfuming: Parfum (Fragrance) Benzyl AlcoholPreservative: Phenoxyethanol O-Cymen-5-Ol Benzyl Alcohol Potassium SorbateSolvent: Aqua (Water Eau) Pentylene Glycol Butylene Glycol Benzyl AlcoholSurfactant/cleansing: Sucrose Palmitate Lauryl Glucoside Polysorbate 60 Achillea Millefolium Extract Polysorbate 80 Hydroxyproline Sodium Tocopheryl PhosphateViscosity controlling: Glycereth-26 Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer Silica Sodium Chloride Benzyl Alcohol Tin Oxide Xanthan Gum Potassium Chloride Calcium Chloride Magnesium Sulfate Sodium Tocopheryl PhosphateIngredientsAqua (Water Eau) Glycereth-26 Propylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate Squalane Dicaprylyl Carbonate Ci 77891 (Titanium Dioxide) Mica Pentylene Glycol Polymethyl Methacrylate Sucrose Palmitate Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer Phenoxyethanol Bisabolol Glycerin Butylene Glycol Silica Glyceryl Linoleate Lauryl Glucoside Polyglyceryl-2 Dipolyhydroxystearate Parfum (Fragrance) Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil Tocopheryl Acetate O-Cymen-5-Ol Polysorbate 60 Sorbitan Isostearate Sodium Chloride Citric Acid Benzyl Alcohol Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate Sodium Hyaluronate Tin Oxide Potassium Sorbate Achillea Millefolium Extract Xanthan Gum Glucose Cystoseira Tamariscifolia Extract Potassium Chloride Calcium Chloride Tocopherol Magnesium Sulfate Glutamine Undaria Pinnatifida Extract Sodium Phosphate Ascorbic Acid Sodium Acetate Lysine HCl Arginine HCl Alanine Histidine HCl Valine Leucine Threonine Isoleucine Tryptophan Phenylalanine Tyrosine Glycine Polysorbate 80 Serine Cystine Cyanocobalamin Glutathione Asparagine Aspartic Acid Ornithine HCl Glutamic Acid Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide Proline Methionine Taurine Hydroxyproline Glucosamine HCl Coenzyme A Sodium Glucuronate Thiamine Diphosphate Retinyl Acetate Inositol Niacin Niacinamide Pyridoxine HCl Biotin Calcium Pantothenate Riboflavin Sodium Tocopheryl Phosphate Thiamine HCl Folic Acid.

SW2.0:
Founded by French aesthetic doctor Michel Tordjman in the late 1970s the Filorga brand promises visible results in 7 days and brags about “the same active ingredients used in injections extended to a new topical use.”I’ve tried several products from the Filogra line recently and admittedly haven’t been overly impressed. They advertise this topical lotion as “inspired by” in-office dermatological treatments like medical strobing laser treatment and chemical peels. These do not feel like a particularly accurate or apt comparisons to make which definitely tweaks my skincare B.S. radar. This fluid uses vitamin C glabridin (a licorice root extract) and algae extract to smooth skin and reduce dark spots along with hyaluronic acid which helps skin better retain and absorb moisture. They claim HA can also “highlight the key areas of the face and help it reflect light better” though I’m more than a little skeptical about that one.By the way those are the EXACT same active ingredients in Filogra’s Unify Dark Spot Cream and Unify Anti-Dark Spot Serum making me seriously wonder what the heck this fluid’s use case even is. (It’s really odd for a skincare company to have a line where every product just repeats the exact same active ingredients rather than working in concert with one another.) It’s got a bit of glitter shimmer to it so I guess it’s basically just a really expensive highlighter? Do you wear it under makeup? Over? With other products in the line? Alone? …It’s very unclear what even the manufacturer sees as this product’s niche as they suggest all of the above.Honestly don’t see this as something anyone really needs (if you’re looking for a highlighter there are better ones for less money) and it’s not solving any skincare problems. Utterly superfluous.Full ingredient list via the Filogra website: Aqua (Water Eau) Glycereth-26 Propylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate Squalane Dicaprylyl Carbonate Ci 77891 (Titanium Dioxide) Mica Pentylene Glycol Polymethyl Methacrylate Sucrose Palmitate Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer Phenoxyethanol Bisabolol Glycerin Butylene Glycol Silica Glyceryl Linoleate Lauryl Glucoside Polyglyceryl-2 Dipolyhydroxystearate Parfum (Fragrance) Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil Tocopheryl Acetate O-Cymen-5-Ol Polysorbate 60 Sorbitan Isostearate Sodium Chloride Citric Acid Benzyl Alcohol Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate Sodium Hyaluronate Tin Oxide Potassium Sorbate Achillea Millefolium Extract Xanthan Gum Glucose Cystoseira Tamariscifolia Extract Potassium Chloride Calcium Chloride Tocopherol Magnesium Sulfate Glutamine Undaria Pinnatifida Extract Sodium Phosphate Ascorbic Acid Sodium Acetate Lysine Hcl Arginine Hcl Alanine Histidine Hcl Valine Leucine Threonine Isoleucine Tryptophan Phenylalanine Tyrosine Glycine Polysorbate 80 Serine Cystine Cyanocobalamin Glutathione Asparagine Aspartic Acid Ornithine Hcl Glutamic Acid Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide Proline Methionine Taurine Hydroxyproline Glucosamine Hcl Coenzyme A Sodium Glucuronate Thiamine Diphosphate Retinyl Acetate Inositol Niacin Niacinamide Pyridoxine Hcl Biotin Calcium Pantothenate Riboflavin Sodium Tocopheryl Phosphate Thiamine Hcl Folic Acid.

Steve and Amy4.0:
This is an unusual product. I’ve never used anything like it but I do like it a lot. It’s a “serum” (which I think is just a buzz word for moisturizer) that adds a touch of “glow” or shimmer to your foundation other moisturizer or your skin if you’re going bare-faced. See the pic I posted however the effect is actually a bit more natural than the pic may appear. In the pic the product has been applied to the back of my hand and has dried however as it sits on the skin for several minutes and absorbs the shimmer settles down a bit and you’re left with a very nice natural glow (iridescent icy/pink but subtle). It gives my skin a healthy glow after it’s added to my foundation but if it sounds interesting be aware of the size and cost. The tube is SMALL = .5 ounces. Most foundations on average are 1.0 ounces and this is half the size for almost $50. Is it worth it? I’m not sure… There are a lot of more affordable brands that are releasing their own versions of similar products that will be interesting to try. I will definitely use this until the tube runs dry but given its size it shouldn’t take very long. :/ ~Amy PS – three stars because of size/cost would’ve been five stars for quality/results.
