I’ve been on a journey to replace my usual shower products with bars and I’ve found that trying to find a good bar shampoo has been difficult. Some would coat my hair in a waxy substance some smelled like pure herbs and some were just overpriced junk.So I bought this looking at the reviews not actually expecting much.Before I even received the product I received an email from the seller with guidance saying that it probably doesn’t lather as well as liquid shampoos at which point I just thought “here we go with the negatives”. So I picked up the shampoo for my first shower ready to already hate it.First of all the smell is incredible. I tend to like products that smell either fresh or sweet so I was dubious as to whether I’d like a ‘Moroccan’ scent but it is an absolute delight. I don’t know how I’d describe it; sweet musky fresh somewhat floral but vanilla-y? It’s gorgeous. Unfortunately it doesn’t tend to last in the hair once dry but I don’t know if that’s the conditioner I use or just it not having a lasting power.The lather was… a surprise. Following the email I half expected there to be nothing but I find it lathers beautifully and I don’t really see a difference to my semi-pro liquid shampoo. The egg shape of the bar is great to hold but at first when you rub it against your head it feels odd and like it doesn’t do much. But with each use it gets better and easier to use. The slight grittyness of the egg makes it so that it doesn’t constantly yeet itself out of your hand but stays there firmly. The small “dent” on the side makes it stay on the bath shelf easily and doesn’t slip/slide everywhere.The first time I washed my hair was the day after a wash day and I felt that my hair was squeaky clean. I was super excited and the cleanliness does last till about three days in (I have a oily scalp so would normally need to wash every other day). BUT if I go for two or three days without washing a single shampoo will not get that “squeaky clean” feeling back; a double-cleanse for me is a must.I struggle with Malassezia folliculitis/fungal acne on my forehead and on a vitiligo spot on my hairline and very few products fend off the resulting dandruff. I find that with this I do need to do a weekly anti-dandruff treatment to ensure there is no flakyness so if you have a larger spot in need of this the trade-off might not be as easy. On a more positive point a lot of shampoos leave my scalp feeling itchy but this does not. Using this in combination with my dandruff treatment & conditioner ensures my hair is looking the best it has done in months; and that says a lot having gone through a lockdown identity crisis with bleach right at hand!For me it’s well worth keeping as part of my routine and at £6 odd a pop it’s great value for money. I’ve been using it for a month now washing every 2/3 days with double-cleanse each time and I’m not even halfway through. I’m very much a splasher/over-user and it generally takes me about a month to go through a bar so even with my usage it lasts a long time!

I have been looking for a natural shampoo bar for a long time that leaves my hair shiny and beautiful. I have tried a few but have always gone back to the bottles which I feel guilty about wanting to be plastic free. This shampoo bar is amazing and leaves my hair so shiny and not limp like other bars have left it and the scent is gorgeous and no toxic chemicals especially as I’ve had cancer and want to use natural products. It’s excellent value for money too giving me a 100g bar which should last a long time. I’m thrilled that I now have another plastic free product in my home that is also excellent quality and the egg shape and colour looks good too in my bathroom

I would give this product zero stars if it was possible. This shampoo bar is terrible. I bought both the Marine algae and the Moroccan ones and I can’t discern any difference between the two.Normally when I wash my hair with bottled shampoo it feels clean shiny and bouncy and very manageable.After using this product over a period of two weeks I am left with frizzy dull hair that looks damaged with lots of split ends. My hair also feels gunky even though I fully rinsed the product out of my hair when using.It has left my normally shiny hair feeling waxy frizzy and knotted. It does not lather well either.I noticed when rinsing my hair after using this product my hair didn’t squeak like it normally does when I use bottled shampoo. The squeak normally means that your hair is clean and that all product has been removed this is normal.I am genuinely shocked at how appalling this product is. I certainly did not expect to end up with dull lifeless and damaged hair.Edited to add: It’s irritated my scalp to the point where it won’t stop itching.

But this is now a fave! It seemed expensive but I think it will last much longer than others.I’ve used twice and it has a firm consistency unlike all other brands that are soft (and can use up quickly).It is also slightly rough which stops it slipping from hands.At first I thought I wasn’t getting much off it and wrongly thought it would be useless… But I smeared the bubbles on my hair anyway (from my hands) and when I went to rub in it kept getting frothier! Like typical shampoo!No time wasted trying to get soap off the bar or trying to get it to rub into your scalp or lather more or even waiting for your hair to ‘transition’ to using a soap bar (which after all the ones Ive used is total rubbish BTW!)It also smells lovely although I don’t recognise the scent.Without a doubt ill buy again.

If like me you don’t like strong scents then this will be too overwhelming.It smells like men’s body spray. I’ve left it on my bathroom window ledge in the hope it’s pungent scent dissipates. It’s faded a bit but still overwhelms all the more neutral smells.I bought this shampoo as I have tried other more expensive bars and liked that they are solid easy to use economical and have fewer nasty ingredients than liquid shampoo.There is no smell on earth that strong which is natural. Chemical overload. I may or may not brave using it on my hair. It’ll have to be much less smelly before I do.EDIT: 2 months in and I have an update. The soaps fragrance became more subtle as it sat in my bathroom. Actually I now really like it. As for performance I have long somewhat oily hair. This shampoo bar does it’s job and after I’ve rinsed with vinegar it’s as good as any other. I have git used to smaller bars so fir ease of use I warmed in microwave and cut down the middle through the join. For me it’s easier to handle and dry after use.
