ETA: adding more pictures…I have waist length hair and the breakage is insane. I’m afraid to wash or brush my hair. I had literal nightmares in my sleep after this experience. It’s been traumatizing and triggering for me.I’d skip this. This was after rinsing in the shower !!! This is insane how much hair has come off on my brush after detangling. This is not normal for me after a rinse. I’m afraid to brush my hair further.

Revlon haircolor is the best bang for your buck because when you buy the 3-pack of Black it works out to be less than $3 per box. That’s the cheapest price I’ve found for drugstore color.The color lasts as long as any other drugstore level box color (for me it’s roughly 3-4 weeks) and is gentle enough that i can even comb a tiny bit through my brows afterward ( I’m very careful and only leave it for about 5 minutes.)So what’s the drawback of cheap color at this low price point? Two issues:1.) The gloves are absolutely terrible. They are huge and not formfitting at all. They are thinner than tissue paper and have no stretch like a vinyl or latex glove. Each glove is basically just 2 sheets of Saran wrap type flat plastic heat sealed around the outlines of of the fingers. This means that the very first place these gloves rip is at the weakly sealed edges. I ALWAYS get leakage through the gloves and end up with black fingertips and especially at the webbed areas between thumb and forefinger. I have short square nails so if you have long or pointy nails you can forget about using these gloves because they are essentially useless.2.) The packet of conditioner is very skimpy unlike the generous (and cult favorite) tube you get with more expensive box dye such as Clairol Nice & Easy or Feria. It’s basically just enough for one use.The Black is a neutral shade–neither cool nor warm although the coolest tones do seem to wash out faster leaving you withe a slightly warm toned dull black by week 3 or 4. I have very long waist length hair and one box is really only enough to do my crown region maybe to below my ears. If I wanted to do all-over color I would need to use 2 or 3 boxes. But that’s sort of expected when you have waist length hair.The other downside I have noticed is that this gives you an immediate but temporary case of dandruff if you get it too close to your scalp (and who doesn’t?) I think this is due to a reaction between the keratin in the formula and your scalp. The flakes that comes off my head are huge and uniform like keratin glue so it’s not regular skin dandruff or anything. it’s “glue’ dandruff. it’s hard to explain until it happens to you. it’s sort of like when you were a kid and let Elmers glue dry on your hands. Gross I know. It washes away in about a week but that does mean if the color only lasts 3-4 weeks and you spend the first week with giant keratin glue flaking off your head then at most you only have 2-3 weeks where you look nice.

i only use this for my wigs but please patch test a lot of people get allergic reactions to revlon & im included the dye make my skin welt uo but for my wigs ? it last so well and gets super dark . A perfect jet black . Easy to apply but be careful and have towels you don’t care to get dirty or bags around for the fall out or mess it can make .

I got the natural blue black and it is perfect. It has a nice little tiny of blue to it. Not overwhelmingly blue. My only problem is it gets under your nails for about the week after you put it in. Other than that it’s really a pretty color.

This color blue black has a reddish purple base. It looks purple until it starts oxidizing. The color is fine after oxidation takes effect and is great until your next hair wash. The blue starts fading out with each shampoo until you are down to your regular color underneath plus a bit of warmth from the reddish base. I abhor red and buy bluish black to NOT have red in it! My search continues for a true blue black permanent color with no ammonia. Any suggestions would be appreciated!!
